My camera was spoilt during the Korea trip...
i try to claim under the travel ins..
the claim was successful..
i got back $150...
although i bought the camera for $466 in 2007..
i'm still happy tat at least i recoup back abit cos bought a new camera...
things i submit for claim:
1)Claim form
2)pic of my spoilt camera.. showing the cracked screen.
3)photocopy of my camera receipt.. (wah i had to dig out from my 2007 stacks of receipts for it.. lucky got keep.)
4)photocopy passport n the korea stamp pg. By rite shd submit the boarding pass, but i threw away already.
anyway some things to take note when u really need to try to claim for things spoilt/loss.
1)always rem to keep ur boarding pass
2)always make a police report there if things r stolen asap.
3)make a report with the hotel/resort if things got spoilt. need some proof tat ur things is spoilt there la..
4)a clause stated is tat "u need to take extreme care of ur belongings"..
means u cannot tell the travel ins tat the loss/spoilt is due to ur carelessness.
MUST SAY u keep very properly but ppl still stole it. or say some ppl knock onto u accidentally and cause ut thing to drop etc... as long dun say its ur fault...
lastly MUST MUST REM to BUY TRAVEL INS when u go overseas!
