Sec 4 'O' Level Design & Techonology project

was sorting out my pics...
saw my sec 4 D&T 'O' level project...
i din join the female home econs class at upp sec..
i join Design & Techonology class instead..
i like hands on stuff..

so my project is a 毛笔 hanger..

i had to take nice pics of my artifact n stick on my portfolio...
hence i had these pics..
too bad i cant take back as its submitted for 'O' level marking..

ohhh so memorable..
miss my D&T days...
where we girls r in the "guys" kinda techinical room with machineries n screws/nails etc everywhere.
i had lots of fun in tat class..

1st we had to brain storm a few things tat we want to do..
think my topic tat time is "Leisure"..
so i drew a few things tat's linked to "Leisure".

then had to draw out in my big big portfolio book..
i then start to learn how to draw in 3D view..
sooo sweet memory...

one of it is calligraphy...
so i thot of doing a 毛笔 hanger..
its easier to do la..
also its easier to draw in 3D too...

then have to draw a few designs of 毛笔 hanger...
once decide on the design, need to fine tune to make it more complicated to make..
like use "finger joints", do a waterproof inner base so can hold the ink etc..
n plan how n use wat to do..
everything need to be documented down in the portfolio..

finally all the portfolio planning is done..
we girls did very well for our portfolio book.. all get A1...
must be the nice drawing... keke..

at 2nd half of the yr, we started doing our real thing...

it started out with few planks of plain wood...
i had to saw, file to shape..
also to ensure my joints are fitted nicely...
lacquer the woods etc..
alot of hands on...

mine involved moulding a inner base.
so need to do a mould etc...
arggg.. forgot details liao...
its the white white plastic thing at the centre...
anyway after half yr's work...

tada!

Not say very nice..

but there's quite abit of hand skills involved..

and i got A1 for D&T in 'O'Level!

keke... ive got male hands.. haha

Cheap KTV

went ten dollar club ktv..
there's 1 at smith street chinatown.
its charged per room $50. up to 5 pax net.
means each is $10 net.
regardless whether its CNY..
keke.. i saw some ppl go KTV spending $30+/pax during peak hr oh..
not bad la...

also they serve "shark's fin"..
drinks is free flow..
can bring own food in..

i dun really like cos its not girly kinda shoe..
but online order is ard S$40.. so jus buy la..

sg stores sell $100+ oh...
so dear gather alot ppl's order...

dear bought 2 pairs... S$85/pair..

mine.. usually i wear 37 but this 37 abit big..

so abit sad.. but still wear la..

Hainan 1-6 feb 2010

airline: tigerair n jestar n a china internal flight
im surprise the china internal flight has quite spacious leg space..
better than budget flight. jus like normal airflight.

exchange rate: S$1=4.83RMB
weather @ suppose to be 25-28˚C but turns out its same as sg. Hot!
we wear shorts n t shirts.
spent: change S$500 only for dear n me...

Our Grand Hainan Hotel.. my 1st impression is wow!

yes.. its our 10th anniversary.

at 1 corner of the lobby..

nxt day early morning we set off to dear's hometown..

its an old village where there are farmers n chickens n ducks etc..

went to buy some snacks n firecrackers for bai bai...

im excited cos im city born so never go village before..

such a good experience..

dear say later i complain this n that..

but i didnt oh.. lucky not much mosquito bite!

keep perspiring too.. cos hot..

dad-in-law once lived here when he was young..

seems like a tradition to light firecrackers when back to old hometown.

good exposure cos sg cannot light firecrackers..

there's food for "bai bai" too..

went to a few temples by walking in grasses..

temple in village is jus like below.. very small..

not the big big kind of temple.

i dun pray.. jus take pics for them..

this is the tablet of the 1st scholar in their hometown.

the ppl set up an altar in memory of the him.

ppl now stay in beautiful "landed" hse..

no more kampung hses.

inside is bigger than our HDB oh..

our lunch place..

the famous "wen cang" chicken.

the meat is super hard.. not nice one..

its so tough tat it keeps stuck in between teeth..

sg hainan chicken still the best!

see how thick the fat skin is..

mum say the chicken run alot so its tougher..

i think the ppls teeth are all very strong oh..

dun look nice vege but it taste nice!

Nite time is our Gala/Awards nite..

boss ordered fireworks.. all parents like it ..

romantic me n dear.. love sparkles! haha...

oh im top 20... so go up stage to rec the crystal..

im surprise the background turns out sooo nice in pic..

oh there's big lights shooting at us.. maybe tats why the pic so nice..

nxt day we had our goal set..

then nite time we went "Hainan impression" by Zhang Yimou!

its a MUST go when u r in hainan..

this "show" is choreographed by zhang yimou after his olympics china 2008.

there are few different sets of show..

beautiful opening.. im amazed..

this features youngsters at beach..

the stage somehow is linked to the real beach...

they shine lights onto the sea..

the sea is blue n trees are green.. so chio..

suddenly there are 100s of bikini babes running towards the stage from the beach..

everyone was wow-ing .. u can see some of the videos here..

they wear neon light shoes to dance.. nice!

100s guys .. the whole performance involved at least 200 ppl oh...

the floor can rise to become flat ground..

can also go down n be filled with water to become swimming pool..

how cool is tat..

oh this is the main socket for hainan..

went for cruise..beer is free... i jus drink the last few drops la..

haha not the whole bottle..

got pole dancing inside.. but not sexy one..

after cruise.. we went for dinner..

theres alot stalls to choose the food.

like marche style..

beer is cheap..

seafood is rather cheap too..

yummy porridge..

nxt dsay we had breakfast at KFC...

they serve porridge n egg tart... yummy egg tart..

today we left haikou n went Sanya..

the famous Guanyin temple...

with parents..

dad in law is also 60 yrs old this yr..

very windy.. n Hot!

sea reflects the sunlight like mirror effect..tour guide say step in using left leg.. out using right leg..

vegetarian food.. i take alot oh... manage to finish it... think at temple shd finish wat u take...

but i saw many ppl take alot food but leftover alot too..

Overall..

this trip is a company trip..

ok only cos hot n not much places to go..

not so interesting trip...

but i like the zhang yimou show...
