Things we take for granted

Today is a visit hospital day.

Early afternoon, went NUH visit Ning ning...
My dear cousin who's only 18 but has been in/out hospital numerous times since young.
This time its life endangered if the surgery was not done in time.
She told me she hasn't eat/drink for 7 days. She'll jus vomit even with little water intake.
After sugery, upon her 1st sip of plain water, she teared....
1st step down the bed to walk, teared....
1st munch on food, teared...
She also showed me her operated area... its centre of stomach, abt 15cm..
She dun wana leave jus like tat.. she wana study, get married, give birth etc..
Thank god she's fine now...

Many thots went thru my mind tat time..
~I've always take for granted tat i can drink/eat... its so tough for some..
~Never stayed in hospital for 28 yrs.. i must really appreciate..
~Is it a test by god to Ning to experience such torture??
~Duno how 大姑 is feeling now.. experiencing daughter going thru these..
~Ning is so strong.. Din even tear when talk to me.. its seems so normal to talk abt sugeries n pain.. Duno how i'll handle it if its me..

After NUH, i went TTSH to visit MIL.
Also stomach problem.. but ok liao..
Shd b able to come home 2 days later..
She told dear tat she duno how long she can live looking at the rate of going hospital..
Dear told me he's worried abt mum..
This is the rare time where dear sounds really worried...
I'm sad for him too when he's sad..

Interesting Findings

1) Human saliva have powerful anti-fungal, antibacterial & antiviral properties. A painkiller identified in saliva called 'opiorphine' is reported 6 times more potent than morphine. Saliva also greatly speeds up the healing of wounds. Tats why wound in mouth heal faster than wound of skin & bone.

2) Is food tat has fallen on the ground still safe to eat if its picked up within 5s?
'Myth Busters' did a test.
Both salmon & dry crackers are dropped for 2s, then 6s.
After 2s, bacteria was found on both food, salmon picked up more cos its wetter.
For the 6s, neither food acquire additional germs.
Sooo: Fallen food is still not safe to eat even within 2s! Myth Busted!

3) Does eating beans increase flatulence? Means farting...
Beans are the musical fruit..
Sooo: YES.. so go easy on beans...

Save money info

Came across a magazine saying abt saving money.
some interesting pts..

1) Dun buy too small size clothings thinking tat u can wear when slim down.
I strongly agree with this. I got the habit of buying fitting clothes. so whenever, i put on abit weight, i cant fit into those clothes. (& i always dispose it by giving to Mum-in-law & she in turn give to her frs ~painful shrink size shoes & tight clothings...)
Sometimes i saw some super sales item & the dress/top is super nice. I'll also buy.. sigh.. in the hope tat when i slim down, i can wear... & the fact is.... the clothes always becomes a display item & evetually got cleared away.. I seems to clear wardrobe every now n then.. i can easily save thousands $ if din anyhow buy! sad.. I Must learn from old mistake...

2) Dun straight away take a shopping basket/bag when enter store. Studies show tat those who carry a shopping basket.. generally definitely will buy something in the store.
Tats interesting.. i agree oh.. cos whenever, i enter watson/ntuc, if i dun take the shopping basket, i'll jus walk around 'window' shopping. But when i carry the basket, i tend to see things more detailed.. like i die die wana buy something.. but but but... Buying things/spending $ is so happy...

3) Use skype to chat. its free
I've got skype.. all u need is the other party must hav laptop... its really not bad.. cos when dear is overseas, we use skype to chat.. free.. can even see each other with webcam.. i duno how to install though.. everything dear help me oh..

haha.. i bought a Infra-red heat massager from watson for $20. then got back $16..

Most coincident thing is i draw Y's gift n she drew mine!

& both if us bought Massager!

His 3 pointers

1) Connecting the dots. He looked back his life. its likes dots connecting n lead to his current achievements.
~Looking back at mine.. i think the biggest & Best Dot is my parents' divorce. It lead me to become more independent and mature at younger age. Have to come out work part time waitress @ seoul garden at 14... I had to be stronger to fend for myself... I dun get to enjoy parental loves..
BUT i have my forever loving aunties n grandma & i love them always!
~I'm left with grandma & ended up, i get proper guidance to my studies instead..Think i'll be worse if left with my parents. At least I have a degree.. wont die of hunger outside..
~If i'm not in NUS, i wont get to know Lifen, n i wont be here now.. I always rem Lifen is the one tat lead me to having current happy lifestyle...
~& I brought dear into this industry that lead him to better heights!

2) Love & Lost. Steve stopped his boring & meaningless studies. He pursues wat he really loves.. "Find wat u love" "In work, love wat u do" "Follow ur heart n intuition"
~I totally agree with this.. Before joining Pru, i worked in few other companies... When i joined this industry, i know immediately this is the rite 1 for me liao.. the job is jus me lor.. i can jus talk naturally n be happy...
~tats why even till now, i'm still doing good & still enjoying my job..
~I have this "intuition" or "feeling" when i hit the rite one.
Eg, when i started out with dear, i know from tat moment, he's the rite one... hee... jus the same feeling as my current job oh...

3) Treat everyday as though its ur last day. He got cancer last time n got cured. So he treasure everyday.. it makes him make decisions "to do it".. keep looking, dun settle..
~Hmm.. this i haven really make full use oh.. cos i think i'm still lazing ard.. Din really make every a fruitful one... i din visit grandma as often as i shd... din do tele as often... din do housework as much... din help dear manage agents much etc...
~oki.. I think starting to go jogging makes life abit more meaningful ba.. @ least i'm not nua-ing everyday...
~Personally i think i din put alot effort in my sales.. but i'm actually happy with my current "relax" closing rate oh.. my close colleagues always say why i like relax relax can do so well still... Hmmm.. think cos i enjoy it ma.. i think as long i'm happy can liao.. but must have enuf money la..

i understand it as... when 1 is hungry, 1 will always hav the drive to improve & strive to do better. Or innovate to find better ways to make things better. When contented/"full", tats the end for learning n improving n innovating.. keep looking.. dun settle..

Ministry of Food

Keke... went East coast to run in morning 8am!
Suppose to hav alot colleagues.. end up only me, dear n alvin!

anyway its a good run.. after jogging regularly for 3 wks.. weight no drop leh..
but my stamina getting better.. can slow jog 3km without stopping!

Anyway, went MOF today..
heard of this restuarant quite some time ago.. but i duno where it is..

Today pass by Marina Square n saw it, so went to try try with dear..

Hmm it serves Jap cuisine...

I ordered something like "Seafood Egg sauce" see below ba.. very tasty.. i like..

Dear order cold noodle... normal lor..

then we had dessert.. red bean with "mua ji" n green tea ice cream.. very sweet oh..

They serve "complimentary" coffee too..

Overall i like my set... however, both of us dun really wana go back again..

Think the environment is very noisy & somehow not worth the price for the environment..

still prefer Waraku ba..

these few days also move rather fast.. Looking fwd to Jan HK n Osaka/Tokyo trip... i want cool weather!
